Scenario: You wake up and notice that the window is in a different place. Ah - must be at a hotel or staying with friends. Slightly disorienting, until the memory starts to kick in.
So, early on Saturday morning, I woke up in our new home in Elliot Lake, Ontario, and I took a sleepy, mental note that the window was in the same place, the walk to the bathroom was in the same direction, the bathroom door was to the right (as normal), but the bathroom 'furniture' was not in its proper place!!! That's when I woke up fully and remembered that I was now somewhere else! Luckily, I woke up in time before any 'damage' was done.
The move went very smoothly, and I would certainly recommend the Barrie branch of 'Two Men and a Truck'. They were very professional, friendly, and efficient. We are in the process of unpacking the many boxes that we brought with us.
All the furniture is now in place, and there is a familiarity about the rooms since we are seeing 'our stuff'; but it is also unfamiliar because the shape of the rooms are different.
It's very exciting - living in a totally new area, as yet unexplored but waiting....
Heard a story about a mama bear and her cubs that have been visiting the area behind our building between 3:00 - 4:00 each afternoon. One day last week, a resident went to put out the recycling, and discovered a cub in the 'cans' section of the recycling bins. She cautiously backed away (mama would probably not be far away), and watched from a distance until the cub climbed out and disappeared into the surrounding forest area.
Needless to say - we'll be extra vigilant when we recycle. We don't want to be part of the recycling program - not yet!
